Ryosuke Takahashi

Ryosuke joined STIMSON in 2016 after receiving Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture from Cornell University, and he applies his skill of developing ideas by going back and forth between hand drawing and 3D modeling with parametric method to projects. Prior to moving to the United States, Ryosuke worked as a landscape designer for over five years in Tokyo, Japan, where he worked on various kinds of both domestic and international projects from public parks to a rural tourist site planning.
Ryosuke holds a Bachelor of Agriculture in Bio-environmental Science from University of Tokyo, and his interest in natural environment has been developed through various experiences including coastal habitat restoration at Gateway National Park in New York. Since a tragic earthquake and tsunami hit Japan in 2011, he has pursued landscape design that helps mediate the impacts of natural disasters as one of the goals of his career believing that it can save people’s lives and cultures and natural environments.
