Hawk Rise is located on 30 acres adjacent to Nantucket Harbor on a site characterized by shrub barren uplands and beech, sassafras, and tupelo wetlands. The master plan includes the siting of the main residence, garage, pool and pool house, approach road, and five future residences for the family. New hedgerows will stretch across the site to define areas of meadow and shrub barrens. The stone walls of the house extend into the landscape to define gardens sheltered from the prevailing winds.
