Garrett returned to STIMSON in 2021 after three years and 5000 miles of hiking through the Pacific Mountain and Rocky Mountain ranges. Prior to his first period at STIMSON, Garrett earned his bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture at The University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
The outdoors has always felt more like a home to Garrett than a roof and four walls. He prefers experiencing the elements directly, tuning in to the subtleties of nature. Garrett has gained great personal insight during his long walks and strongly believes in encouraging others to realize personal growth in wild places.
With a deep appreciation for the restorative qualities of undeveloped landscapes, Garrett finds joy in the process of capturing the character of these environments and translating them into designed spaces, expressing nature’s beauty within a functional framework. He finds particular interest in the meeting of materials at a fine scale, with attention towards simplicity and efficiency.
