Emily Hayes
Landscape Designer
Emily is a designer and florist from Buffalo, NY, where she grew up playing in the Delaware Park System, walking through the Albright Knox Gallery, and swimming in the Great Lakes. She comes to Landscape Architecture after harvesting many vegetables and many, many flowers from the farms of Maine.
She recently received her MLA from Harvard GSD where her graduate thesis explored the capacity of Boston public pools to work as a landscape infrastructure in the face of extreme heat. She is a recipient of the Penny White Travel Fund for her project In a Hole in the Ground, where she studied the social and physical infrastructure of pools in Iceland. Her interest is in the relationship between local ecologies and bathing / swimming practices.
Emily returns to STIMSON after interning in 2023. She loves tomato season and the radio.
