Camila Campos Herrera
Associate
Camila holds a Master of Landscape Architecture and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Toronto. Before entering landscape architecture, Camila worked as a transportation designer in Toronto collaborating on transit terminals, master plans, road alignments and street cross-sections. This experience cultivated an interest in everyday unseen systems and the potential of landscape to function as infrastructure.
Born in Varadero, a rural beach town, and raised in Toronto, Camila was always aware of how landscape informs culture. She has always been a constant observer of how flora and fauna inform the meaning of place. Through thoughtful design, she seeks to create spaces that respond to the history and ecology of the site. She was the recipient of the Ontario Association of Landscape Architecture (OALA) Certificate of Merit upon graduation. Her interests lie in the thresholds of landscape architecture, where biotic and abiotic overlap. In her spare time, she likes to adopt misfit plants, fiddle around with her sewing machine, and refinish dated chairs.
